How to draw / paint on Wellington Boots using Posca Pens - save the bumblebee design

My little angel said she wanted red boots with butterflies on for her school garden club. Well you know what it's like you can never find what you are looking for when you want it. So instead I looked into painting wellington boots. The wellington boots and Posca Pens arrived today and she was so excited, and I have to admit I was amazed at her painting skills for such a young age. And very proud that she chose the bumblebee as her main design in the aim to get other children to plant plants that will help the bumblebee survive.

Here are her boots she decorated with bumblebees and butterflies, and below you can see her showing you how to draw a gorgeous little bumblebee using the Posca Paint Pens.

See our other blogs and videos on how to save the bumblebee. We also have a lovely video showing you how to draw a bumblebee mask on your child. I used old makeup and glitter, details on my Butterfly Lullaby blog.

Jodie (Sunset Bunny) Cystic Fibrosis / Diabetes (Jodie fight to breathe) please help me get her to Disney - I want the money from my Google Blog to go to her

Jodie is my cousins little girl who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis and now sadly Diabetes. So if you are reading this please, please pass it on to everyone you know and let them know the Google Ads on my blog will hopefully help raise money towards sending her to Disney one day. I believe sick children should have fun while their health allows them to.

Jodie no longer goes to school like other children because she has been bullied. A girl in her class made sure no one befriended Jodie, which made her life at school very unhappy. Was it not bad enough that she was off school all the time anyway because of her illness and found it difficult to make friends.

I (Sharon J. Bainbridge) wrote the lyrics to the song Jodie fight to breathe and my partner Jakson Lee cleverly put the song together with his beautiful voice and music. All the proceeds our end will go directly to the Cystic Fibrosis Charity. When my cousin received the song she said they both cried, as that is just how Jodie feels, and being an Asthma sufferer myself I know how frightening it is to fight to breathe, and how fortunate I am that my little girls Cystic Fibrosis test came back clear.

If you have read some of my blogs you will have heard of the character Sunset Bunny the Easter Fairy. This character is in two fairy stories. The first one is Butterfly Lullaby where she is the friend of the Butterfly Princess. And the second story is purely for Cystic Fibrosis where all the money our end will go to the charity, and that is called Sunset Bunny the Easter Fairy. This character was created by using Jodie's favourite colours and her favourite animal the bunny rabbit. I personally feel this is one of my best stories, I love the music that accompanies the story and the way it has a happy go lucky feel, which children love. Maybe with a bit of luck Cadbury will make a chocolate wand for the Easter story and make a donation to Cystic Fibrosis.

The song Jodie Fight to Breathe and story Sunset Bunny the Easter Fairy is available for sale as a download from Amazon and I Tunes.

The Butterfly Lullaby fairy book was printed in the UK (no slave labour used here.) It is a rare Limited Edition fairy book and has a page dedicated to Jodie and Cystic Fibrosis. £1 per Butterfly Lullaby book goes to the Cystic Fibrosis Charity. Currently the production and postage costs are not being met!

Jodie's words in the Butterfly Lullaby book "I suffer every day, but I never complain."

The price currently being sold on Amazon for £9.99 does not cover production or postage costs, yet alone the £1 to Cystic Fibrosis. So I am glad that Sunset Bunny the Easter Fairy has been created as an audio story as hopefully this will create many sales for the charity as £0.79 is nothing to pay for a very sweet Easter Story that will make a big difference to a worth while charity.

If you have not heard of Cystic Fibrosis, it is an illness that has no cure, one that brings a lot of suffering. I came across this You Tube Video of Bob Flanagan who had the illness. A wonderful man who tried to fight the illness with humour, God bless you Bob:

How to save the bumblebee - teach children to plant the correct flowers and make a bumblebee house to protect the bees from the cold winter

On Sunday we visited Pontarddulais Garden Centre and asked for advice on how to save the bumblebee. The staff their were very friendly and gave us some interesting information to help save the bumblebee. Viola is meant to be a good plant for the bumblebee, lavender, butterfly plant and many more:

When we got home we made a bumblebee house out of bamboo for the Queen Bee.

Get your children interested in the bumblebees. They usually have garden clubs run by the school, which is an ideal way to learn about this very hard working little creature. Get your children to paint their wellington boots with a bumblebee design. See our blog and video on how to paint a bumblebee using waterproof pen paints.

Here are a couple of websites that can give you more information about how you can do your bit in saving our lovely little bumblebee.

Tell me your bumblebee stories and show me some photographs of your lovely garden, and which plants you find your bumblebee really likes.

My little girls letter to Tinker Bell the fairy asking her to please give her some fairy dust so she does not grow up

My friends little boy does not want to grow up, especially after going to Disney and playing with Tiger and all the other Disney characters. His one big worry is that his Mummy will grow old and die. So there was no option, she had to ask the fairies to contact Tinker Bell and ask for some fairy dust. They now sprinkle this fairy dust on each other every day to keep them young.

All children seem to have the worry of dying and getting older and losing their loved ones, I know I did. The other day my little girl sat down and wrote a letter to Tinker Bell asking her for fairy dust so she does not have to grow up and can keep me forever. What was a Mum (Mom) to do. I knew there was no way on this earth I could contact Tinker Bell in time for her to deliver the fairy dust that night. So I had to come up with a plan, and here it is in my You Tube video.

Ok so this fairy dust was just a stand in. I have the real fairy dust being delivered by the Butterfly Lullaby fairies next week. They have spoken to Tinker Bell and she is giving my little girl a very special fairy dust bottle with a spoon built into the lid. It is so unique (OOAK) I am going to use this fairy dust at the Universal Children's Day Event in Hastings, where I will be showing some of my Butterfly Lullaby children's stories and pictures. There will also be fairy workshops and fairy party games, fairy songs and dancing. One of the stories includes Sunset Bunny the Easter Fairy which is on Amazon (all proceeds our end go to Cystic Fibrosis for this story.) I will also be showing a picture of my Nan and where she came from as she was part Burmese, French and English. It was her sewing box that made me create all my OOAK fairy costumes. Talking of fairy costumes I have to fluke one for this event, or wing it, so need to get my fairy thinking cap on.

Before I go. If you need to create a stand in fairy dust bottle until you can get the real thing, here is what I did. First, find a small bottle to decorate. I used a small food colouring bottle. I filled it with caster sugar and it does sparkle. Just don't let them take it into school as some Smart Alec will say it's salt. The strange thing is the sugar does eventually transform into fairy dust which sparkles silver and gold, so if that is not magic I don't know what is.

As soon as the other real Tinker Bell fairy dust arrives I will show you a picture. Cannot wait to see her little face light up as it will be very special indeed.
