Britian's got talent family values? Family show?

Has the whole of Britian been taken over by aliens or are they all just popping happy pills?

I sat down last night for family viewing of Britian's Got Talent. And I was just horrified that a bunch of women wearing next to nothing and playing with fire is meant to be acceptable for family viewing! Let alone the Queens Royal Variety Show! Seriously would the Queen really be interested in this sort of thing, "I think not!"

What do you think the Queen would rather see a bunch of women teaching young children that this is how society expects women to be "cheap and tacky" or do you think she would like to see something like this?

The above Butterfly Lullaby show was performed by the Mark Jermin Stage School at my Butterfly Lullaby book launch back in 2007. They only had a few days to practice! I created all the costumes apart from the Queen Butterfly. This was a dress I hand painted and re designed to make it fairy like. The Butterfly Lullaby song I co wrote with my partner Jakson Lee. He was meant to sing live at the show but they did not have the correct set up for him to do so. All the fantasy fairy images in the background I created myself. And I wrote the Butterfly Lullaby fairy story.

My partner likes to watch Britian's Got Talent. For me all these shows are a joke. They are not searching for real talent it is all about making big money! That is why they interview everyone before showing the good and bad acts on TV. And I hate to tell you this people, when it comes to money family values are lost far behind. The big "S" word sells big time. That is why I doubt we will ever see any changes in our society. I worry about my little girl growing up in such a brainwashed world where women are not respected and lets face it a lot of them let them self down by doing what is expected of them by some men.

If you believe in family values leave me a message and I will add it to my comments. All spam gets deleted!

Don McLean really inspired me with his amazing TV interview the other night. I look forward to hearing his new songs, a man that is true to himself and his music. I wish him all the best fairy luck in the world and hope it brings changes to our music industry. I for one would like to see female singers wearing more clothing and focusing on their singing voice rather than anything else.

On a positive note I wrote a song yesterday for all us lost artists.  My partner is currently upstairs putting the words to music and vocals. Thank you Don McLean for bringing back hope and giving us a glimpse of what life should really be like!

Poppy flower hand painted on silk by Sharon J. Bainbridge from Butterfly Lullaby

After watching Don McLean on TV last night and listening to his song Vincent again it made me go upstairs and dig out an old silk painting I did of three red poppies. It is based on a photograph I took of the poppies in my garden. I played around with the photograph in Photoshop and it created splashes of beautiful colours, pink, lime green and yellow. The silver glitter looks like stars, which reminded me of the song Vincent, stary stary night.

"Flaming flowers that brightly blaze" these words from the song Vincent can only describe the stunning fields of poppies painted by Vincent Van Gogh. I just adore his poppy paintings! I wonder how many artists out their think to them self that their art will never be discovered in this life time like Van Gogh. That thought crosses my mind all the time. But I hold warmth in my heart knowing that I enjoyed every minute creating all my paintings, fairy costumes and photographs. I cannot stick to one thing because I am like a butterfly that floats from one thing to another.

I dedicate the video of the song Empty chairs by Don McLean to all the unknown artists. Keep dreaming and keep painting!

Don McLean there is no pain anymore for real music you just take a pill to make you happy

I watched a recent interview with Don McLean last night and it was so refreshing to hear his words of wisdom. There is no real pain anymore for real music, people just take a pill to make them happy. At last someone that is not brainwashed by society into thinking taking these pills are normal! And thankfully by being able to feel other peoples pain he was able to write amazing songs.

The song Vincent by Don McLean has to be one of the best art songs ever written. Pure poetry and meaning. He really studied the pain Van Gogh went through as an artist. My Nan used to have a print of the church by Van Gogh and an old boyfriend gave me the song Vincent when I was in my 20's. I painted a self portrait some years ago like Van Gogh. It is not perfect, but art is not meant to be based on perfection.

I never knew Don McLean was a Buddy Holly fan and that American Pie was based around his sadness of his idol dying. What an amazing songwriter! And I am glad he has managed to keep to his true self and not been changed by the music industry.

Don McLean is a man to admire. I really enjoyed watching his TV Interview last night. And his humour makes me giggle. He sang a song about getting old and how his looks had gone to hell.

But most of all I want to leave you with the words of wisdom from Don McLean "if you cannot feel pain you can't write real music." So stop taking the happy pills and do something about trying to change your life, accept the fact that life is not easy and the only one that can do something is you! If there is a real problem that is stopping you from moving forward I would go to your GP and ask for hypnosis to block this bad memory so you can get on with your life.

I want to share with you a poem my sister wrote based on how she has mirrored my Mother's illness and sadness. The poem was so amazing because it had real feelings and pain that I had to ask my partner to make it into a song. The music by Jakson Lee is good enough to be on a classical album and the words are just pure emotion. I leave you with the song Mother written by my sister Louise Bainbridge.

Gold and silver ballet shoes hand painted by Sharon J. Bainbridge from Butterfly Lullaby

I created the same sort of hand painted ballet shoes for my little girl when she danced to our Butterfly Lullaby song at the Enchanted Manor in front of famous fairy artist Josephine Wall and the American company the Kirks Folly, expect the ones the Butterfly Princess wore were hand painted in silver with a hint of fairy glitter. Let me know what you think of the hand painted gold ballet shoes:

Here are a pair of silver hand painted ballet shoes without the fairy glitter:

I still feel very sad that the Cyber Bullies managed to destroy nearly all my videos of the Fairy Tea party held at the Enchanted Manor back in 2009. I wonder if Google have still got a copy of the Butterfly Princess dancing to our original Butterfly Lullaby song? Here is Jakson Lee, my partner, singing Butterfly Kisses at the Enchanted Manor, a song guaranteed to make you cry.

At least we have some happy memories and my little girl got to draw with famous fairy artist Josephine Wall, and we are lucky enough to have kept the sketch which we will treasure forever! Bob, Josephine's husband really made a fuss of her she still talks about Bob and wishes she could see them both again.

I don't know if you recently saw the TV programme where three bed and breakfast companies were competing against each other. Just want to say well done to Maggie and Ric from the Enchanted Manor for winning. They work so hard and there Bed and Breakfast is just pure luxury with a wonderful family welcome!

How to make an ACEO art card box the Butterfly Lullaby way

If you collect or create art cards (ACEO's) it is quite nice to be able to put them in a sweet little art card box, especially if you can make it and decorate it yourself. Here is my original art card ACEO box I designed using my very own techniques:

All you need is mount card, pretty wool, big needle, ruler, craft knife, glue stick and hole punch (optional permanent black marker pen.) I have covered the mount card with images from my Butterfly Lullaby book, but you can use any images or even paint and decorate the box yourself. My template for the ACEO art card Box is just below this video:

To save the ACEO art card box template just click on the image below, save and print on A4 paper.

Happy crafting everyone. And I would love to see any of your ACEO art card boxes based on my craft idea. Leave a message or send me a link to your blog and add me as a friend!
